We’re a bunch of like-minded students who care about our ecosystem and strive to live in a clean and green environment. At Green Choices, we’re using our voice to fix the broken plastic system and relentlessly working to ensure our future generations live in a world where plastic packaging is sustainable.
We tried looking for ways to replace plastic but it does not really work at the root level for consumers. After all, plastic is a very useful material for getting products to consumers safely and efficiently. It’s often the lowest carbon footprint option compared to other materials. However, the qualities of plastic as an option for carrying goods are not compatible with other materials, so we found that recycling is probably a better alternative.
Mission & Vision
Mission – Drive sustainability solutions for plastic packaging. Through education, research and collaboration, we aim to expand plastic recycling efforts at a global level.
Vision – Live in a breathable, clean environment.
- Educate – Herald awareness amongst students about types of plastic, disposing them off the right way, alternatives to plastics so that they can help spread the word about sensibly using plastic. Methods of awareness include placing posters in markets, nukkad nataks etc.
- Promote – Send us images of you using a cloth bag for groceries and vegetables and fruits.
- Support – Green Choices will distribute cloth bags to vegetable vendors so that they can in turn give it to their customers and request that they bring them along each time.
